Can anyone tell me who are the best violin composers?
Can anyone tell me who are the best violin composers? (like Beethoven, Vivaldi or so…, but I need more of them)
Thanks a lot.
Paganini may be the best violinist, but he is FAR from being a great composer, like, as you said, Beethoven and Vivaldi.
Besides Beethoven and Vivaldi, I also recommend the violin concertos by Brahms, Tchaikovsky, and Mendelssohn.
Bach is also a great composer for violin… Check out his Concerto for 2 Violins in D minor or his Brandenburg Concertos or his famous Air on the G-string.

The best violin composers are the ones that played the violin. In particular Paganini, who was one of the best violinists of all time, and Kreisler. Bruch and Mendelsohn both wrote fantastic violin concertos as well.
