what is the best Violin brand to purchase?

i’m purchasing my first violin and i’m a beginner.
what type of violin should i get? can you recommend any brands or any online stores i can purchase from? i don’t have many music stores near me so i prefer to purchase online.

Answer to question#1: Stradivarius, then Amati (sp?)

Answer to question #2: find a reputable in-line store (check with the BBB). Depending on your physical size, there may be several violin sizes available. Try inexpensive first. Don’t forget the case, resin, and a pitch pipe. Good luck.

I just purchased an electric violin and now I’m researching other accessories. How do effects pedals work? Where would they plug in on an electric violin? Would you need an amp as well? If so, how do they connect simultaneously? Which specific brands are good for electric violin?

I have a yamaha SV130 violin.

Hmm, I haven’t had experience with electric violins, but i have with pedals. You will definitely need an amp and speakers.

I don’t know about violins, but with guitars you have two kinds of amp/speaker choices:

One is where you can buy and amp which can be plugged into any speaker, with this you can mix and match, but the equipment is hard to transport.

Or you can get a combo, which is an amp and speaker in one, this way is much neater but your stuck with your amp and speaker.

As for plugs, you’ll have a cord running from you violin, into a pedal (left side) then a separate cord will come out the other side and into any other plugs and into the amp.

Hope this helps
