What is the best way to clean up a violin?
There is dried rosin beneath the strings that won’t shift with a damp cloth and marks beneath the strings from grading stickers. What is the best way to remove these and polish my violin without damagin anything?
Thanks.

What should I play for my first violin recital?
I am an adult violin student who has been playing 7 months. I have to pick out a song for a recital in two months. I only know the major scales and I only know first position (no shifting yet). I’m by no means a prodigy, so I need to find something easy enough for me. Any suggestions from fellow violinists out there? Thank you for your time.
Ask your teacher to help you find a piece that is interesting and that sounds more difficult to play than it actually is. Since you are an adult, the audience might expect more from you even though you are a beginner. So, choosing a piece that doesn’t sound so "elementary" will be good. Good luck to you – the violin is a difficult instrument to master but so beautiful when it is played well. I applaud you for pursuing this ambition.
