Sitt, student violin concertino #2

Here is a run-through of the first movement of Hans Sitt’s concertino #2 for violin – I’ve broken it into four parts so you can figure out what the notes are. You should be able to sing through the section easily (along with the clip, at first) to make sure that you have a good sense of the correct rhythm and where your fingers need to go.

i’m getting a new violin and cant wait to start playing after hearing my best friend learn to play very well. but i dont have enough time in my week to go to lessons. so what is the best and fastest way to learn the violin?

Maybe your friend would be willing to help you learn. You could offer him/her a nice dinner or do something fun together each time. The more you have the violin up to your neck and actually try to play it, the better you will be. If that isn’t an option, then I suggest calling your local college or university to see if there is a good student who could teach you on your schedule for a reasonable rate.

Enjoy your music!
